Lab of Misfits

Lab of Misfits has moved

Lab of Misfits is opening a new, illusion-themed space in the Science Museum. Following the move out of the first-floor gallery, Lab of Misfits is now in a room on the second floor, right next to the popular Energy gallery.

The room draws its theme from Lab of Misfits most iconic and mind-bending optical illusions. It will be open to visitors from the 11th March, each Tuesday and Wednesday from 12–4pm, and at selected other times for experiments.

During this time, we'll be focusing our research programme on the influence of power and mental state. More specifically, we're investigating whether feeling more or less powerful, or optimistic, affects our perception of colour and time. We are welcoming two new teams of University College London researchers who will be running the experiments with us.
