Point of Perception at Kinetica Art Fair

Produced as a collaboration between artist Madi Boyd, Beau Lotto and neuroscientist Mark Lythgoe, the Point of Perception is both art and science, intended to be an experiment in the gallery.

It manifests as an immersive environment consisting of a ‘screen' which is a giant, mirrored, gridded space of uncertainty and projected film. Our interest is in ambiguity in perception and the ‘tipping point' where there is enough information for the brain to understand what the eye is seeing, the line between form and formlessness.

The KAF is produced by Kinetica Museum and brings together galleries, art organizations and curatorial groups from around the world who focus on kinetic, electronic, robotic, sound, light, time-based and multi-disciplinary new media art, science and technology.
